2021 Fall Trip - Day 30 - 9/22/2021

Wednesday, Sept. 22, 2021 - I tried to take pictures of the moon last night (WITH MY NEW iPhone!!), but they were lousy. So I took this at 6:30 this morning:
A lovely day today - pretty low-stress. Down into Colorado - 277 miles:

Nice morning in Jay Em, then down the road. Stopped at the Torrington Rock Shop for a present for me:
Going through Laramie I found the spot where I was with Caroline and Ardath 2 years ago:
Still the same population and elevation.

Into Colorado at 2:30:
Checked into the Super 8 Windsor, Colorado at 3:45
And then we went out to dinner at The Grillhouse at Pelican Lakes:
We watched the sun set behind the Mountains:
and headed back to the hotel a couple of hours later:
Thank you God for this wonderful adventure day with my Wonderful Wife! (Big Milage Days coming up!)

Music for today:

James Taylor - Dad Loves His Work, 1981

John Mayall - The Turning Point, 1969 live album

I like this album a lot. Recorded right after John Mayall gave up the Bluesbreakers/hard rock genre (experimenting with "no drums"), he has Jon Mark and Johnny Almond in this band (to become Mark-Almond). To see how tastes change over time, "The Rolling Stone Record Guide" (1979) gave this album 4 stars (out of 5) - 4 years later, "The New Rolling Stone Record Guide" (1983) only gave it 2 stars. Same music, different reviewer/tastes/times.

John Mayer Trio - Try!, 2005 live album

John Sebastian - John B. Sebastian, 1970

Jorma Kaukonen - Stars In My Crown, 2007

Josh Ritter - The Animal Years, 2006

Jack Johnson - On and On, 2003

Kenny Chesney - Lucky Old Sun, 2008
