2024 Summer Road Trip - Day 28-of-35 - July 19, 2024

Friday, July 19, 2024 - This is THE LONGEST DAY for the whole trip - 843 miles. Maybe I could have fine-tuned it, but there has to be a "LONGEST DAY" somewhere:

Bye-Bye to Butte at 7:44 AM:

Nice country out here in Western Montana:

There's a Sermon in here somewhere:

Into Idaho at 10:37

At 1:12 on a Friday afternoon, EVERYONE IS IN THE POOL at Lava Hot Springs, Idaho:

A quick little dip down into Utah at 2:51

Very Pretty going alongside Bear Lake:

I said HELLO to Wyoming at 4:08

"Big Sky Country":

I love going through Green River, Wyoming:

I'm going to be on I-90 for the next 100 miles. When I was thinking about this trip, I thought "and then I'll just whip down I-90 to Exit 187 onto 789 South".

PLEASE don't ever let me say "I'll just whip down I-90" in Wyoming! The distances ARE VAST out here, especially after I have been driving over 10 hours already:

The purpose of today's route was to say HI to Dixon, Wyoming. I didn't see anybody - Not Surprising:

Made it into Colorado a little after 8 PM:

It was 2 hours after sunset when I finally made it to the Super 8 in Kremmling, Colorado - 843 miles today. Thank you God for getting me through today Safe and Sound!

Music today:

Let's start today's Highway Driving with Bob Seger & The Silver Bullet Band - Ultimate Hits: Rock And Roll Never Forgets (2 cds), 2012 greatest hits album, last heard 7/22/2016 - some Wonderful songs! Lyrics: "Roll Me Away"

Took a look down a westbound road
Right away I made my choice
Headed out to my big two-wheeler
I was tired of my own voice
Took a bead on the northern plains
And just rolled that power on
...

Stood alone on a mountain top
Starin' out at the Great Divide
I could go east, I could go west
It was all up to me to decide
Just then I saw a young hawk flyin'
And my soul began to rise
And pretty soon
My heart was singin'
