Fall 2018, Day 28 - from Colorado to Jackson, Wyoming

Friday, Sept. 21, 2018 - Drive north from Colorado up to Jackson, Wyoming = 339 miles driving:

It was COLD this morning:

Hey, I don't make this stuff up!

I could have gone "straight north" on "The Highway", but (if it is not TOO MUCH out of my way) I like to do "The Scenic Route":

Not much company out here. Looking behind me on 10N:

and then looking ahead:

We wound up seeing Irish Canyon right next to the road:

with it's Native American rock drawings:

It is good to be out on the OPEN RANGE:

We had a nice lunch at the bar at Bitter Creek Brewing in Rock Springs. Rock Springs was weird - all our cell phone attempts (Google Maps, Google) were "blocked" by something; we had to use the restaurant's wifi to get anything (even though we "had 4 bars").

Heading up to Jackson, we went through one of my FAVORITE stretches of highway in the USA (US 189 runs right alongside the Hoback River, with wonderful canyons). When we came out of the canyons, WE SAW THE SMOKE:

It was the Roosevlet Fire; at that time, it was ZERO percent contained. 5 days later, it has expanded to 50,586 acres, with only 30% containment. God Bless Us All, and please don't let us destroy this world. Amen

North of there, but still south of Jackson, the rivers were clean:

And in Jackson, Wyoming, the skies were clear:

(NICE VIEW!! from Ed and Catie's backyard!!)

They are right next to a nice stream:

And we had a fun visitor when we went out to dinner:

WOW - Thank you God for ALL THESE WONDERFUL ADVENTURES!
