Fall 2015 - Day 22: Castaway-by-the-Sea Motel (Port Orford, OR) - Emmanuel Episcopal Church (Coos Bay, OR) - Super 8 (Wilsonville, OR)

Sunday, Sept 27, 2015 - Starting from the Castaway-by-the-Sea Motel, north to the Emmanuel Episcopal Church (Coos Bay, OR), then further north to Yachats, Oregon, then inland and north to the Super 8 in Wilsonville, OR:

265 miles; 5 hours 23 minutes.

After a good "Denver Scramble" breakfast at Hook'D Cafe in Port Orford:

we went to a very nice church service at Emmanuel Episcopal Church in Coos Bay.

Then north to Eel Lake in the William M. Tugman State Park:

Although it wasn't "resplendent", it was quite lovely.

At the Umpqua Lighthouse State Park:

it certainly shows a lot of fun sites, both Heading North:

and Heading South:

The Oregon Coast continues to be beautiful:

and we get to take pictures of people taking pictures!

We stopped in Yachats just to use the men's room and grab a cup of coffee, but it has this BEAUTIFUL Area (Yachats State Park) RIGHT THERE:

After enough of the coast, we turned inland through the Suislaw National Forest - the "rainforest" aspect of this Pacific Coastal Area results in MOSS EVERYWHERE:

I am stunned (and grateful) that we have had these beautiful sunny days!

On our way up to Wilsonville we were able to connect with Wendy's cousin Shelley Cole, who was able to meet us for dinner at the Oswego Grill just up the road from our hotel. Once again, Thank You GOD for a Great Day!

Music today:

we listened to some local FM stations, then

Al Stewart - The Best of ... (1986)

Eddie Vedder - Into the Wild (2007)

(because we are going "Into the Wild", obviously)

Edie Brickell & New Bohemians - Shooting Rubberbands at the Stars (1988)

because "Edie Brickell" is right after "Eddie Vedder" in my list of Artists.
