2026 Road Trip - Day 29

Thursday, Sept. 10, 2026 - Up and at 'em - 6 AM Breakfast, then I dropped off Wendy at The Bozeman Airport at 6:35. I went back to The Hotel, and left at 9 AM. After 484 miles (and 22 Post Offices), I checked into the Baymont in Sheridan, Wyoming at 6:30 PM:

Going over the Yellowstone River near Pray, Montana, on my way to my hike:

So - my plans were to "hike in The Beartooth Mountains (Pine Creek Lake trail, 9.8 miles) - you pass Pine Creek Falls." Unfortunately, when I got to the road up to Pine Creek Campground (the trailhead), THE ROAD WAS CLOSED FOR PAVING:

Oh well, another day, another time. I have many miles to travel, and much beauty to see.

I am basically on I-90 East today, from Bozeman, Montana to Sheridan, Wyoming - this doesn't look like The Mass Pike!

It hit 98 degrees at 4 PM, and at 5 PM I crossed into Wyoming (on a back-road):

Sheridan, Wyoming is a pretty busy town:

After 484 miles, I checked into the Baymont in Sheridan, Wyoming at 6:30 PM:
