When I took Wendy and Deede to Logan Airport yesterday afternoon, it was 100 degrees on Rt. 1 South!! All I could think is "that's a long way from Glacier National Park". They arrived safely in Paris, and we can text back and forth.
After breakfast in Boston, I hit the Mass Pike West at 9:15 AM
Lunch after Albany, NY, around 12:30
Arrive at Rockwell Museum of Western Art, Corning, NY at 3:44 PM, after 426 miles
In addition to "Mount Whitney" by Albert Bierstadt, there are two by Thomas Moran, one by Thomas Hill, one by Alfred Jacob Miller, and a beautiful painting "Lost Lake, Wyoming" by Ogden M. Pleissner - a beautiful collection and well worth the stop.
After a nice dinner with Jeffrey Perrin (he just moved back to Corning from Essex, Mass.), the Holiday Inn in Salamanca was another 2 hours (and 135 miles) down the road.
And, for those of you who requested it, here is today's playlist:
