Fall 2016 - Day 12: Victoria, British Columbia - Goldstream Provincial Park

Monday, Sept 26, 2016 - Picking up Deede at the Ferry, then morning/afternoon/evening with Dan, a man Wendy and Deede met while hiking the Camino de Santiago in Spain in 2013. He lives just outside Victoria, and that was one catalyst for making this visit:

Right next to the Ferry landing is The Robert Bateman Centre, with his paintings:

Heritage - Bald Eagle, 2010

The Air, the Forest, and the Watch, 1989

We picked up Deede, and met Dan, and then hopped in the car and drove up to Hatley Castle:

To quote Wikipedia:

In the superhero films X2: X-Men United (2003), X-Men: The Last Stand (2006), X-Men: Days of Future Past (2014), Deadpool (2016) and X-Men: Apocalypse (2016) the exterior of the X-Mansion were filmed at Hatley Castle on the grounds of Hatley Park and Royal Roads University in Victoria, Vancouver Island, British Columbia.

Tha castle, grounds, forest and waterfront were Very Cool!:

We then had lunch and drove up to Goldstream Provincial Park. A good walk in the woods (?rainforest?):

leads to Niagara Falls (156 feet high!):

and its VERY DEEP pool:

Coffee back in Victoria, then a tour of Christ Church Cathedral. Their "upstairs chapel" has wonderful stained glass:

And the view back through the Cathedral fills one with awe:

Back to the hotel, then out to dinner. Thank You God for a great day with friends!
