Sunday, Sept. 18, 2022 - Wendy and I EXPLORE New Mexico:
Started off the day with a Great Breakfast:
New Mexico does have its beauty:
Our first stop is the Pueblo of Acoma. Thomas Moran painted (at least) 4 paintings of/at Acoma - the best overview being "Acoma", 1902 oil - Colby College, Maine:
It is a beautiful journey to get there:
Since there were signs that it was "CLOSED TO ALL NON RESIDENTS", the closest picture I took was from the parking area of the Visitor Center:
Have to take a picture of the Post Office for the town of "Pueblo of Acoma, NM 87034":
Lunchtime in Albuquerque:
We looked at the New Mexico Museum of Art in Santa Fe, but didn't see anything I liked:
Santa Fe, New Mexico is a popular place on a Sunday afternoon:
I am trying to explore the National Geographic book Guide to Scenic Highways & Byways. For today in New Mexico, north of Santa Fe is the "Jemez Mountain Trail" (pages 320-321) [and it includes A WATERFALL]:
So we headed out into the wilds of New Mexico
And soon found ourselves in Los Alamos (yes, "that" Los Alamos):
More scenery:
And shortly after 5 PM we found ourselves on the "Jemez Falls Trail":
Beautiful ride back down out of the Jemez Mountains:
We made it down to the Super 8 in Bernalillo, New Mexico by 7 PM:
Great dinner out at the "Range Cafe" (and they are open for breakfast!), and bedtime. What a really great adventure day - Thank You GOD!
Music for today:
Wendy started out reading out loud - Louise Penny, Hillary Rodham Clinton - State of Terror, 2021:
Trinity Pipes - Finally, Trinity College a cappella
U2 - The Best Of 1980-1990:
