Thursday, Sept. 15, 2022 - Wendy and I, exploring through Colorado:
We headed west to take pictures at Blue Mesa Reservoir on the Gunnison River:
Today's "Scenic Highway" is called West Elk Loop (looks like somebody needs another car wash):
I wanted to take my "canyon picture":
and maybe got a little far away:
Looking down at Morrow Point Reservoir on the Gunnison River:
Then, before getting into The National Park ("Black Canyon of the Gunnison National Park"), we headed north to have lunch at Crawford State Park, at our picnic table overlooking "Crawford Reservoir":
After lunch it was back down the road:
I always like the helpful "You Are Here" arrow:
We drove down a loop, and parked to hike to the rim:
After The Canyon, we drove back north to see Needle Rock Natural Area:
It looks pretty cool and isolated (and small).
Well, it is pretty cool and isolated, but it is not small:
Well, we made our way through Hotchkiss, where Wendy said "Stop, Stop", and got an ice-cream cone (and I mailed postcards):
and finished the day down in Ridgway at my cousin Tom and wife Debbie's wonderful home:
WOW - Thank You GOD for this Wonderful Day!
Music for today:
George Winston - Winter into Spring, 1982 third solo album:
Federico Aubele - Gran Hotel Buenos Aires, 2004 debut album:
Michael Franks - Objects of Desire, 1982 seventh studio album:
And then Wendy got to read me a book she had just finished - a current-day thriller, and she reads it Very Well.
Louise Penny, Hillary Rodham Clinton - State of Terror, 2021:
