Thursday, Aug. 28, 2025 - East through North Cascades National Park - 290 miles ending up at the Soap Lake Natural Spa & Resort, Soap Lake, WA:
The first stop today was up in North Cascades National Park:
At the Visitor Center there was a very cool 3-D map, showing our Easy Pass Trail:
Well, we still had to get there:
We reached Easy Pass Trailhead at 2:20
Nice trail:
After a little while, you cross the bridge:
We continued up through The Forest, got a fun selfie at a Babbling Brook, then headed back down:
We did a 1.05 mile hike:
Kept heading down The Road:
Nice wall-art in Winthrop, Washington
Crossing the Methow River:
We stopped at the Dry Falls Visitor Center:
Heading down The Road, to end the day:
Checked-in just after 6:30 PM (photo from the next morning) - 290 miles today (and 6 Post Offices):
This is what they looked like:
My favorite today is 98834 - Methow, WA - once again, I like the background:
Thank you God for another wonderful Adventure Day!
Music for today:
Patty Larkin - Regrooving The Dream, 2000 album, last heard (on a Road Trip) 8/29/2018:
Paul Simon - Still Crazy After All These Years, 1975 album, last heard (on a Road Trip) 8/10/2019:
Brian Herbert & Kevin J. Anderson - Navigators of Dune, cds 14, 2016 audiobook - that finishes it! An ok book, but it does suck you in, and you really do want to find out how the story evolves and finishes:
Paul Simon - One Trick Pony, 1980 album, last heard (on a Road Trip) 8/07/2018 - wonderful album, especially "Jonah":
They say, "Jonah, he was swallowed by a whale"
But I say, "There's no truth to that tale
I know Jonah, he was swallowed by a song"
Plain White T's - Hey There Delilah [EP], 2006 Extended Play cd, last heard (on a Road Trip) 9/07/2021 - I only like the single and the live version - delete the rest:
Poco - Pickin' Up The Pieces, 1969 debut album, last heard (on a Road Trip) 7/26/2021 - I saw them with Colie Harding at the original Boston Tea Party in 1969, on a double-bill with Blodwyn Pig (Mick Abrahams was lead guitarist on Jethro Tull's 1st album (Cat Squirrel)). Poco was founded by Jim Messina and Richie Furay in the aftermath of Buffalo Springfield breaking up:
Rickie Lee Jones - The Magazine, 1984 album, last heard (on a Road Trip) 8/02/2018:
