Well, and of course fit in a visit to an art museum.

After a beautiful rise-and-shine

Wendy and I headed over to the Huntington Library/Art Gallery complex in San Marino. They have a lot going on there, including Botanical Gardens, and would be well worth a day-trip for people who like that stuff. I, however, am interested in The Art. In one building they have two JMW Turner paintings:
Neapolitan Fisher-Girls Surprised by Moonlight, c. 1840

The Grand Canal: Scene - A Street in Venice, c. 1837

The American Art building had works by Bierstadt, Bradford, Church, Duncanson, Durand, Heade (2), Kensett (2), Thomas Moran (2), Whittredge, William Keith, Bronco Buster by Frederic Remington (sculpture), Edward Hooper, Georgia O'Keefe, and Thomas Doughty.
Frederic Edwin Church - Chimborazo, 1864

John Frederick Kensett - Rocky Landscape (White Mountain Scene), 1853

Thomas Moran - A Mountain Stream, 1869

Thomas Moran - Rock Towers of the Rio Virgin, 1908

Then down to the Santa Monica Pier, and the Pacific Ocean! Den and Wen at the Santa Monica Pier!

This is the view from the restaurant:

Of course I went for a swim!!!
