Friday, Oct. 5, 2018 - From West Virginia To HOME = 835 miles driving:
in 15 hours 15 minutes.
There was no breakfast, so I left at 6:30 and ate misc. in the car. Driving through West Virginia in the dark can be a little hairy, but when the sun rose, the misty clouds/fog swirls among the mountains was pretty cool. Crossed into Maryland 4 hours later:
Fun seeing my namesake road:
right before entering Pennsylvania at 12:23
Sometime you just encounter stop-and-go traffic out in the middle of nowhere:
That happened a half-dozen times on my trip today.
Got "Welcomed to New York" at 4:16
And from there it was just getting gas and food, and heading HOME.
It was cool in Manchester:
and this screen means that My Trip (trip B) went 10000 miles plus 2422.5:
12,423 miles in 42 days (6 weeks) - pretty great Adventure!
Thank you God for Art, and Nature, and for these Wonderful Adventures!
For those of you who enjoy climbing/hiking/mountains, my other blog
http://dixonheadingnorth.blogspot.com/
deals with The New England 4000 footers, the New England 100 Highest, etc etc.
Less roads, more mountains.
Driving Music:
William Gibson - Count Zero (Chapters 6 through 24 [the end]), 1986 (his second book)
WOW - that was, like, 12 hours of audiobook!
Counting Crows - New Amsterdam: Live at Heineken Music Hall February 4–6, 2003, 2006 live album
James Taylor - Never Die Young, 1988
And I cannot think of a better way to end this trip than:
Livingston Taylor - Life Is Good, 1988
