Today we make our way from Las Vegas down to Sloan Canyon National Conservation Area, past Hoover Dam, and on to the Grand Canyon:

The architecture in Las Vegas is pretty cool:

and, of course, the Trump Tower is out in the middle of nowhere:

30 minutes later we were south at the Visitor Contact Station for Sloan Canyon National Conservation Area, famous for their Native American petroglyphs. It is in a relatively desolate area:

We did not go for a hike, although we did have a nice chat with the ranger.
An hour-and-a-half later we were at the Hoover Dam complex:

We did not "do a tour", but just had fun looking around:

I added to my collection of USGS Markers:

It was pretty cool driving through the desert

listening to Sting sing "Desert Rose"

And of course it was GREAT getting to the Grand Canyon just before we lost all our light:

THANK YOU GOD for getting us out here safe-and-sound! (it seems to be working out ...)
Music for today was albums from my silver nano (not very loud, so we would listen through the albums twice):
Fleetwood Mac - Behind the Mask, 1990

Sting - Brand New Day, 1999
Bruce Hornsby and the Range - A Night on the Town, 1990
