Adirondack Waterfalls, Day 3-of-3

Wednesday, May 10, 2017 - NY Museum, and Vermont Waterfall!

"Flapjack Pete's" is only open on the weekends, so we had breakfast at Caffe Vero in Lake George. 20 minutes south to Glens Falls, NY. Because of the dam/hydroelectric power, it is difficult to appreciate "The Falls":

Interestingly, Google Maps (satellite view) shows DRY ROCK in the area below the curve of the dam. That is DEFINITELY NOT happening today!

2 minutes east is "The Hyde Collection", which Wendy and I visited in May 2015. It is just as nice two years later:

(don't even THINK of "Parking" on those benches!)

They currently have a very nice exhibition "American Artists in Europe", with works by Childe Hassam, Winslow Homer, and Thomas Moran.
Thomas Moran - The Gate of Venice, 1888 etching

from the website, without the glare:

A little more than an hour east (through Manchester, Vermont) to the Lye Brook Falls Trail in the Lye Brook Wilderness/Green Mountain National Forest. Lye Brook is BEAUTIFUL this time of year:

and it is a nice 3-mile hike to get to the falls:

At the falls, we met a nice young couple from Richmond, Virginia who took our picture:

Lye Brook Falls are our FAVORITE on this trip!

After that, it was time to head home. Stopped at the Billerica Public Library for Madam Secretary, Season 2, and home to have dinner, watch an episode, and decompress. THANK YOU GOD for these wonderful adventure days!

Music for today was albums from my iPod:

The Eagles - One of These Nights, 1975

James Taylor - One Man Band, 2007 live

a very nice live album, with just James on guitar plus a pianist.

One eskimO - One eskimO, 2011

They did the song "Amazing".

Air Traffic Controller - The One, 2011

Delaney & Bonnie & Friends - On Tour with Eric Clapton, 1970

yes, those are Bob Dylan's boots hanging out the window.
