144 miles; 2 hour 44 minutes.
Morning, working on my blog:

At a California lake:

My first sighting of Morro Rock

We had lunch in a nice waterfront restaurant in the town of Morro Bay:

and then went and parked near Morro Rock

And its Beautiful Beach:

Just south of San Simeon we passed a herd of horses-with-funny-stripes:

Oh Wait - those are descendants of the original zebras that William Randolph Hearst imported for his estate!
Of course the Hearst Castle is impressive

and has beautiful views

but I personally am not a big fan of the whole Medieval/Renaissance thing he has going here. The feature I liked best was the Greco-Roman pool outside:

which was drained for repairs, which actually give you a great opportunity to appreciate the structure and the interior.

Got a postcard for Ellie, then back down the road for a nice dinner and bed - Thank You GOD for all these wonderful days!
Music today:
John Mayer - Room for Squares (2001)

and, because it is Thursday:
John Mayer - Any Given Thursday (double live album) (2003)
