Road Trip across North Carolina - blog 2/3

Sunday June 29 through Tuesday July 1, 2025 (blog 2/3) - Because Wendy's sister Cacci (and husband Ken) could not make it out to St. Louis for THE WEDDING, Wendy wanted to go down to North Carolina for a visit. I said "Great - I leave Thursday morning, and pick you up at the Raleigh-Durham Airport, late Saturday afternoon. We'll drive the 70 miles to Pinehurst, and be there for a lovely dinner." Wendy said "OK!":
TOTAL TRIP: 2,895 miles covering 10 States, 4 museums, 157 Post Offices in 34 New Counties

-------------------------

We spent nights 3, 4, and 5 in Pinehurst, North Carolina, enjoying friends and family (and breakfasts at Cracker Barrel!!!) - and church on Sunday:

My "working breakfast" Monday morning at Cracker Barrel - chocolate-chip pancakes, well-done bacon, black coffee:

On Monday, Wendy and I visited the Sandhills Horticultural Gardens:

Tuesday morning Wendy and I left bright and early to make our way over to The Biltmore Mansion in Asheville:

A pretty lovely day to visit a pretty lovely place (with a pretty lovely lady!):

It is nice to see their 2 Monets - Belle-Île, le chenal de Port-Goulphar, 1886 and Strada Romana a Bordighera, 1884:

I know what Wendy is interested in:

That was a fun MapMyWalk hike around The Mansion:

We then made our way down through The Gardens for a nice little lunch:

We checked into the Village Hotel on Biltmore Estate, and went downtown to look at The Cathedral of All Souls (Episcopal). Unfortunately it was damaged from The Floods and is closed:

So we went back to The Village Inn and hung out:

A lovely dinner brought this wonderful North-Carolina-adventure to a close. Thank you God for these GREAT Adventures!

Music for Tuesday July 1:

various - 20 Years Of Narada Piano (2 cds), 2001 compilation album, last heard 9/28/2015 - lovely to listen to while driving through the North Carolina morning:

Bill Morrissey - You'll Never Get to Heaven, 2007 album, last heard 9/28/2016 - Wendy and I really like Bill, and miss him:

The Police - Zenyatta Mondatta, 1980 3rd album, last heard 9/11/2023 - very good album:
